Rafał Witek participated in the ExCo Meeting of FICPI held on March 31 – April 4, 2019 in Turin and represented the Polish group of the members of this association.

FICPI (Federation Internationale des Conseils en Propepriete Intelectuelle) is an international organization bringing together patent attorneys practicing this profession as a part of private and independent law firms.

„Founded over 100 years ago, in 1906, the FICPI association currently has over 5,000 members from over 80 countries and six continents.

Before being admitted as a member of the association, the candidate for FICPI membership has to meet the established requirements pertaining to his character, experience, and international reputation.

Members of FICPI represent their clients in matters relating to: patents, trademarks, and designs as well as other intellectual property subjects at the national, regional and international level.

The clients of FICPI members form a diverse group, ranging from private persons and SME sector to international industrial corporations as well as universities, governmental and non-governmental organizations, and other institutions that are both persons applying for protection and third parties.

FICPI members participate in the development and issuance of opinions relating to the articles and agreements on intellectual property.

FICPI issues opinions on proposed changes to the international, regional or national legislation or practical guidelines based on a broad spectrum of knowledge and experienceof its members who are professional users of the IP system.” (source

The purpose of FICPI is to strengthen the international cooperation of persons being patent attorneys in a private practice and to promote trainings and continuing education of their members and other persons interested in the protection of intellectual property.
